Sex and Romance in the Biblical Marriage
& A Blessing for the Heart
How did this desire for James E. Sheridan begin?
Why does he feel so strong about getting the word out to
others about this topic?
When was the last time you heard a sermon on sex?
Most churches act like a bolt of lightning would toast the place if the word was even mentioned. But, God invented sex, and God doesn't invent junk.
"My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge."
Hos 4:6 (NKJV)
This is seen played out in divorces everyday. Most counselors agree most marital disputes involve issues of sex and romance. Yet, few couples, even committed Christians, know what Scripture says about marital sex.
The modern church has done a miserable job teaching God's incredible message about sex and romance.
The church tells us all the "No's" of sex, but virtually nothing about the "Yes's." It leaves that part to Hollywood, TV, magazines, and the music industry. Then the church sits, wringing its hands, wondering why there are so many divorces and why so many couples are not satisfied with their sex life.
The answer is simple: The church does not teach them
This is the reason James E. Sheridan and Pastor Jeff Meyers, of Christ Lutheran Church in Overland Park, Kansas, have developed this video series and why A Blessing for the Heart was written: TO FILL THAT VOID.
